Additional Information

Plan now to observe Women’s History Month in your congregation.  Choose one or more of these activities:
  1. Do a women’s history “minute” during morning worship. Ask a layperson, United Methodist Women’s unit, or a youth to do a five-minute profile on a biblical woman, woman bishop, or a woman in your congregation.
  2.
  3. Create a bulletin insert with a word search or word scramble puzzle based on biblical women.  On the following Sunday, include the solution to the puzzles, along with a brief description of the Biblical women.
  4.
  5. Ask a woman in your local church to create a devotional guide based on her favorite scriptures and inspirational writings.
  6.
  7. Invite a local Christian woman in business, politics, or education to speak during worship about how her faith influences her life and work.
  8.
  9. Host an art show at your church, featuring Christian women artists from around your community, or sponsor a concert featuring women musicians.  If you do it as a fundraiser, donate proceeds to ministries that benefit girls and women.
  10.
  11. Form a women’s chorale to offer music during worship in place of or in addition to your regular choir.
  12.
  13. Ask your congregation’s drama club or youth Sunday school class to perform one skit each Sunday addressing an issue related to Christian women.
  14.
  15. Invite a woman Volunteer in Mission to show slides about women in mission worldwide.
  16.
  17. Have the women in your church create Women’s History Banners.  This would involve the seamstresses of the church and those who love arts and crafts.
  18.
  19. Have a speaker share with the your congregation about Domestic Violence Awareness.
  20.
