1. “Today’s Trends Make Your Church’s Future”

  • Objective:
  • Discover your church’s future in what’s happening today. Involve your people in learning creative ways to look ahead and participate in the future without fear or anxiety.

  • How Long:
  • 2 Hours

  • Who Attends:
  • Pastor, Ad Board, As many program and stewardship people as possible

  • Description:
  • Take a look at current demographic, sociological and economic trends in your church and community. Look also at the practices and attitudes of people of the church and region. Use these facts plus a variety of enhancement techniques to project your church’s future. Deals with the theological issues centering on the future and the sovereignty of God throughout time.

2. “Endowment Fund Set-up and Marketing”

  • Objective:
  • How to set up an Endowment Fund for your church and market the fund and the concepts and strategies of planned giving to your people

    2.5 Hours

  • Who Attends:
  • Pastor, Finance, Stewardship, Ad Board, other key leaders.

  • Description:
  • Learn the steps necessary to put an endowment fund in place. Learn how to put together an endowment document and set up an endowment fund committee. Discover the benefits for your church from having an all-church dialog about endowment and what it can and cannot do for your church. Discuss the chief ingredients necessary to keep an endowment fund going and continually interpret it to your church members.

3. “Biblical and Theological Roots of Stewardship”

  • Objective:
  • Discover what the Bible tells us about our relationship to all that we are given, including money, time, possessions and skills.

  • How Long:
  • 2 Hours

  • Who Attends:
  • Pastor, key leaders, congregation members.

  • Description:
  • Explores the biblical paradigms and stories in the Old and New Testament that point to the relationship between the master and the steward. Identifies the multiple master-steward relationships present in modern church communities and helps participants identify themselves as both masters and stewards. Deals with money and possessions, future, belief in God’s sovereignty, and trust as a factor in local church life.

4. “Investing for Local Churches”

  • Objective:
  • Learn ways to invest and results they have brought. Discuss appropriate investment policy issues for local churches.

  • How Long:
  • 2 Hours

  • Who Attends:
  • Pastor, key financial leaders, endowment committee, trustees.

  • Description:
  • Learn the four basic ways to invest money and discover their historical returns. Discuss the “breadth and depth” concept of investing for long-term returns. Discuss relative levels of investment risk and discover what it means to invest in a “socially responsible” portfolio of investments. Learn the concepts of “income,” “capital gain,” “prudent man principle,”and “balanced fund.” Learn how all these and more apply to your church’s investment picture.
